Product Description
The Davey 5170YE Firefighter is a diesel-powered single-stage self-priming pump designed for firefighting, tank filling, irrigation, garden watering, water transfer and crop spraying. Its portable roll-frame design makes it suited to farm, irrigation and general water transfer applications.
Powered by a Yanmar L70 diesel engine, the 5170YE features electric and recoil starting for a choice of starting methods. The pump is self-priming from up to 5 metres at 3000rpm and uses Davey’s clamped, thrust-balanced impeller design for reliable performance and easier disassembly in the event of a blockage.
The pump casing, diffuser and impeller are manufactured from corrosion-resistant marine-grade aluminium, with the pump casing epoxy coated internally and externally for additional corrosion resistance. A four-way discharge provides multiple plumbing connection options, while the roll frame incorporates anti-vibration mounts for transportation and installation.
Important: A battery is not included with the electric-start model. Davey specifies a minimum 12V 24–36Ah battery for the Yanmar L70 engine.
